Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jordan Organizes Successful Sri Lankan Food Fair 2026

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Amman, in collaboration with the Sri Lankan community in Jordan, successfully organized the Sri Lankan Food Fair 2026 on 15 May 2026 at the Embassy premises in Amman.

The event showcased Sri Lanka’s unique and diverse food culture while promoting cultural exchange and strengthening people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and Jordan. The visitors enjoyed a wide variety of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, including popular dishes such as Kottu Rotti, Aappa (Hoppers), String Hoppers, Dosai, Pittu and, as well as Sri Lankan snacks and short eats such as cutlets, patties, vade, bun, rolls, and rotis, and variety of traditional Sri Lankan sweets and drinks. Several foods were prepared through live cooking demonstrations, which added a unique and interactive experience for the visitors.

The food was prepared by the Sri Lankan community residing in Jordan. The tea stall featuring world-renowned Ceylon Tea and, received special appreciation from visitors. The event also served as a platform to promote Sri Lanka as an attractive tourist destination among Jordanians and expatriates residing in Jordan.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka extends its sincere appreciation to all attendees and dedicated vendors whose valuable contributions made the event a great success and a memorable occasion.
The event attracted over 700 visitors throughout the evening, including members of the diplomatic corps, Jordanians, foreign nationals, Sri Lankans living in Jordan, representatives of the business community, and media personnel. The food fair reflected the growing interest in Sri Lankan cuisine, culture, and hospitality in Jordan.
