- All Sri Lankan migrant workers should register with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) before departing for foreign employment.
- A migrant worker not registered with the SLBFE is not entitled to any coverage or benefits provided by the SLBFE.
- SLBFE Registration is valid for two years for the domestic sector and three years for the garment sector upon first registration.
- If any Sri Lankan worker wishes to extend employment beyond the original contract period, they should renew their SLBFE registration before it expires by paying the renewal fee.
- A migrant worker who had not been registered with SLBFE before arrival in Jordan also can apply for registration at the Embassy. However, Female domestic workers cannot apply for SLBFE Registration for the first time at the Embassy. They can only apply for renewal of the registration at the Embassy.
- The following documents to be submitted to the Mission for SLBFE Registration:
- Valid Sri Lankan passport.
- An agreement between the employer and employee.
- Employee valid Work Permit and Resident Permit (Iqama).
