Embassy of Sri Lanka in Jordan Coordinates Financial and Relief Assistance for Victims of Cyclone Ditwah

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan commends the generous support extended by members of the Sri Lankan expatriate community, partners in the apparel sector, and well-wishers, whose timely contributions have provided much-needed relief to families affected by the Cyclone Ditwah.

In response to urgent humanitarian needs, the Embassy collected financial assistance amounting to approximately LKR 19 million from Classic Fashion Apparel Industry, Needle Craft Apparels, Rich Pine International Textile, United Creations, Jerash Garments, Pine Tree Apparel, and members of the Sri Lankan community in Jordan.

In addition, a 40-foot container of garments, generously arranged by Classic Fashion Apparel Industry Ltd. Co., one of the leading apparel manufacturers in Jordan, was dispatched to Sri Lanka with the support of Trico International Cargo. Furthermore, another consignment of 10,000 branded garments, arranged by Century Miracle Apparel Manufacturing Co., Ltd., is ready for shipment and will be dispatched shortly.

J.A.D.S. Priyangika Wijegunasekara, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, expressed her sincere appreciation to all contributors for their solidarity and generosity. She reaffirmed the commitment of the Embassy and its staff to coordinating humanitarian assistance in an efficient and transparent manner, ensuring that the aid reaches those most in need.

This initiative reflects the strong spirit of unity, solidarity, and enduring friendship demonstrated by the Sri Lankan community and well-wishers in Jordan during a time of adversity.
